Background of the facility

Addressing the Issue of Depopulation

In recent years, Otaru City has been facing serious challenges such as depopulation and a declining local economy.
We believe that through our vacation rental business, we can offer a new and meaningful solution to help revitalize the community.

Revitalizing the Community

By welcoming tourists, we aim to bring new energy back to the area and share Otaru’s local culture and history with people both in Japan and abroad. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to a brighter future for the city of Otaru.

Vacant Houses – "AKIYA"

Due to ongoing depopulation, Otaru City faces a growing issue of an increasing number of vacant houses.

These abandoned properties can negatively affect community safety, local scenery, and the vitality of neighborhoods. We believe our efforts can also contribute to addressing this important issue.

Extensive Renovation

A once-abandoned two-story house has been carefully transformed using the latest renovation techniques into a guesthouse that beautifully blends the warmth of tradition with the comfort of modern living.

Great attention has been paid to every detail of the interior design, achieving a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal to ensure a relaxing stay in every room.

Our goal is to create a space where guests can enjoy the charm of historic Otaru while feeling completely at ease with modern amenities.
